Here, you won't find candles with simple aromas. You will find candles with complex aromas, which will make you travel in your memories, and relive your experiences. We dedicate our body and soul to create excellent products accessible to all, without sacrificing quality and aesthetics.

A word used to describe the smell of burning animal fat, the first raw material used to make candles. (Ironic, isn't it?)
Just the best stuff.
Did you know that the products used in commercial candles are as dangerous as the fumes released from a cigarette? Namely toluene and benzene, which can cause cancer, asthma, and skin problems. This is because almost all commercial candles are based on paraffin, a petroleum by-product, which is cheaper and allows strong aromas to be released with less essences.
We've turned it around. With a soy-free coconut and rapeseed vegetable wax, phthalate-free fragrances, and no other chemicals harmful to our health.
Behind the brand
Nidore is a small candle creation and design studio in Porto, created in 2020 by me, Mário. (That's me, on the right!)
I've always been a bit obsessed with all things scented. I remember my college days, when on my way home I passed a long trail with some flowers that gave off a spring smell that took me back to my childhood. Our olfactory memory is fascinating, and can transport us to remote times that we couldn't remember. And candles were always a good way to recreate memories. But something was missing.
Complex aromas were missing. Scents with meaning, and with a reason. Nothing against candles with apple, red fruit or vanilla scents, but it wasn't enough. Thus, amidst a whirlwind of ideas, Nidore was born.
In the same year, Miguel embraced this project with as much passion as I did. We look forward to seeing where this dream takes us.
