Sustainability is at the heart of our business and is one of the pillars by which we make, or do not make, certain decisions. We always try to use what can be renewed in the long term. Our own wax blend is created in Germany, reducing emissions on transports. Wicks are made from cotton and linen for rigidity instead of lead. Our containers and packaging are 100% reusable and recyclable. We have established partnerships with different organisations to "offset" our environmental footprint. All our products are handmade in small batches, minimising waste. We're not perfect, but we work hard to get there.

It's normal! Our vegetable wax is full of personality, as we like to say. Because it is a natural plant material, without any chemicals, we can't always give it a perfect and immaculate look, but we do our best. Wax can get a few wrinkles and breaks after the first firing. It is natural, and will continue to release a perfect essence! We advise you to read our page: candle care.

We believe, from a scientific point of view, that the production of essential oils are more harmful to the planet than synthetically produced fragrances. We are of the opinion that not all chemicals are bad, and not all natural products are good.

We use synthetic fragrances created and developed under great chemical scrutiny by leading perfume makers in France and the UK. Our fragrances are not obtained from natural elements, but from chemical compounds. However, all of them do not have in their composition any product harmful to people/animals, unless they suffer from any allergy to these products.

Both. All our raw materials are manufactured in the EU, including the fragrances. As such, none are tested on animals.

In none of our products are raw materials of animal origin used. When we say, for example, that candle Hominis has a honey aroma, we mean that the fragrance has the chemical compound, manufactured in a laboratory, which gives the aroma of honey.

CLP stands for "Classification, Labelling and Packaging", and is a standard established in 2008 for the entire European Union, whereby products on sale, which contain chemicals (such as our fragrances) must have the main allergens on a safety label on the product. You will not find this information on candles on sale in supermarkets because:

1. They use fragrance concentrations below 5% and are not required to have CLP;

2. They're not manufactured in the EU.

We abide by the rules, even those we don't agree with 100%. In CLP, the label at the bottom of your candle, you will find this text in some of our essences.

Why?

Because we work with concentrated formulas, and as such we are obliged to have this text declared on the product. The law regulating chemicals in the EU is based on the possible danger, not the possible risk. So there is a danger of contamination if hundreds of thousands of our candles come into contact with an aquatic environment. But there is no such risk.

First, because we don't make hundreds of thousands of candles at once;

Secondly, we do not don't ship our candles in containers (by sea transport), which would be the only way for our "hundreds of thousands" of sails to come into contact with the aquatic environment.

In short, the text "toxic to aquatic organisms with long lasting effects" is on our candle's CLP so that in the event of a disaster the competent authorities will know how to proceed if large quantities of fragrance come into contact with an aquatic environment.
