Keep the wick of your candle trimmed. This allows for a safer and cleaner burn. The first time you light your candle, let it burn for 3-4 hours to allow the melted wax to reach the rim of the container to prevent tunneling (burnt wax in the middle, and the rim with wax still unburned). Refer to the Candle Care page to make 100% use of your candle.

Follow the 2 metre rule: don't place lit candles near clothes, books, curtains or anything flammable. Place them on a stable, heat-resistant surface that is sturdy and large enough to catch any melted wax.

Keep lit candles away from draughts, ceiling fans and any drafts. Never leave a lit candle unattended. Extinguish all candles when you leave a room or before going to sleep. Extinguish if the flame gets too close to the candle holder or container.

A candle should not be burned for more than four hours at a time.

For a safety margin, stop burning a candle when 2 cm of wax remains in the container.
